Upcoming Speaking Gig: IABC International Conference

I’m pretty sure that this post from the IABC InSession blog will be the only time that Nicholas Negroponte and I will be pictured side by side:
I kind of like his pic better. It might be time for a new headshot that makes me look less…I don’t know…shady?
Anyway, if you’re attending the IABC International Conference in June, I hope you’ll consider participating in my pre-conference workshop.
We’ll be discussing social media best practices from the ground up. I’m putting the presentation together now.
If you were going to a three hour workshop, what are some of the topics you’d like to learn more about?

Sounds interesting. What will you be focusing on? I would want to learn about how social media can be applied to smaller companies with 20 or fewer employees. How can we leverage the input we already get from our customers into more of a discussion with our entire client base?
Great site and informative posts.

Thanks for your comment, Dave.
I’m going to provide an overview of several social media platforms and discuss how employees can leverage them to participate in conversations with various constituencies for their companies. It’s not just about blogs or Twitter or social networks, but about finding the best tool depending on the audience and objective.
20 or fewer employees are small businesses (SMBs), and this is a difficult nut to crack since many small businesses identify more closely with other SMBs in their industry more than with other SMBs in general. I’m definitely interested in discussing them, though!
